Relaxing Getaway with a Lock Experience

The trip to Lake Lehnitz (Lehnitzsee) takes you through the natural landscape of the Zehdenick–Spandau Havel Lowlands. This area stretches for about 60 km between Spandau and Zehdenick. The focus of this tour is the experience of nature itself.

We start at Lake Tegel (Tegeler See), with its natural islands, and travel through the former border area around Nieder Neuendorf, a district of the town of Hennigsdorf. From there, we continue towards Oranienburg to Lake Lehnitz. Before the Lehnitz lock, the vessel turns around, and then heads back to Berlin.

Four Havel Regions in One Trip

On this route, you’ll travel the entire picturesque stretch of the Berlin Havel. Starting from Lake Tegel, with its fascinating world of islands, we pass through the Spandau Lock and glide along the historic district of Spandau. The journey then continues out onto the Havel lakes, dotted with countless sailboats and small yachts, offering panoramic views that include the Spandau Town Hall Tower and St. Nicholas Church. On one side, the prominent Grunewald Tower rises above the treetops, while on the opposite shore, Gatow and Kladow pass by with their small marinas, beaches, and charming waterfront properties. From Lake Wannsee, we continue past Berlin’s most famous island, Peacock Island (Pfaueninsel), all the way to Potsdam — and then back again.

Hospitable Lockside Charm and Natural Romance around Woltersdorf and the Idyllic Löcknitz

Around the lock, the Woltersdorf promenade invites you to stroll and linger. Here, the lively atmosphere of the lock blends with natural romance and local history.

Discover the area on foot or by boat along the idyllically winding Löcknitz River and the picturesque Grünheide chain of lakes – a paradise for nature lovers.

Worthwhile excursion destinations include the observation tower on the Kranichberge hills, featuring an exhibition on the film history of the 1920s and 1930s –
